Northern Influenced: Tom Thomson. My brain has been crammed with work lately and every night before I go to bed I read a biography about the painter, Tom Thomson. It helps me to escape dwelling about my ridiculous, chock-a-block commute to work, the adjustment of getting use to ‘real’ work again and urban life in general. For those of you familiar with Tom Thomson’s work, you will know that he was obsessed with capturing the Northern spirit on canvas. He lived in Algonquin Park for years – painting trees at different times of the years, capturing light, water and nature in general. Continue reading →
