Paint Dipped Teak Table

Remember this? Paint dipped. I am thinking of updating a piece of acquired furniture – paint dipped teak table might be my next project.

Originally we had thought that we would leave our auction found teak coffee table snag au natural… But now it’s looking like it could use some cosmetic lifting….

teak coffee tableFine right?

damage on teak coffee tableOuch. Not coming off. Tried. It’s there. For life….

Andworn legs on teak tableWhat did these poor legs ever do to deserve this? Beaten…

So…. Should we (1) just leave it and strategically place a bowl, statue, books, plant on the place of abuse … or, (2) leave the top alone but paint the legs, or (3) paint the top and leave the legs alone, or (4) or paint both the top and the legs and hide said locations of abuse???? Am leaning towards the paint dipped teak table look.

paint the legs and the top – in groovy matching colours to your room – maybe legs white and top greeny

Thanks for these – it’s nice to see what others have been up to. I have spent today painting a tv unit. Not finished yet but now I have some more inspiration to keep me going.

Where in Northern Ireland are you? I am in Galway

    Amy 🙂

    • Hi Amy! Am in Belfast – I adore Galway!!!! So pretty! I checked out your blog! It is great, I really liked the Australian linen house bedding too! I would love to connect with more Irish bloggers – how did you find me?

  • Julia

I agree with Laura! Paint that table!!!!!

    • Thanks Jules and Laura – think we will be painting it for sure – maybe it is a Friday project!

  • Amy

I found you via a comment on French by Design – total fluke!

    • Oh great stuff – well keep coming back, glad to have found each other!

  • Yup I agree, you should paint them both. Enjoy your Friday painting project 🙂

Ps. I love the white & blue chair in the first pic, it’s a very tranquil scene.

    • I have a puppy in tow tomorrow so we shall see how things go! Wonder if our local paint shop will let her in!!!

A teak table is practical for space as it accents the large pieces while harmonizing everything around. A seating area that has no teak table can at times look incomplete and haphazard.
