Always on the hunt for something a little different, The Row House Nest stumbled upon Lindsay Stephenson’s timeless personalized prints while reading her home reno and house blog. From there, I found her amazing company: Penny Paper Co.
Lindsay runs her own art and stationery studio, Penny Paper Co out of her east end Toronto home. All of Lindsay’s prints are splendid but we feel in love with her personalized Alphabet Prints. Here are some samples of her work:
Lindsay’s Alphabet Print was recently featured on ohdeedoh in a Sharon Montrose post. To read the full post, go here. As well, Meredith Malloch included a picture of one of her print’s in a blog post here. Stella + Henry did a quickie mention of them as well, read that here.
To get to know Lindsay the artist and home blogger, we asked her to take part in a little interview – and lucky you! She agreed!
Question. When did you begin selling your art?
Response. I started PennyPeople.com in 2004 selling personalized stationary, and introduced personalized Art in 2008 when I saw a need for modern, fun work for nurseries.
Question. How did you decide to start a blog about your home?
Response. I started blogging as a creative outlet, something different than my daily routine of my job. It was a way to also keep track of our lives, to keep a dairy of all the projects we are working on in the house.
Question. Where does your inspiration come from?
Response. Fabrics and interiors.
*Lindsay posted this picture of a pillow she bought in February 2011 – wonder if it will be a source of inspiration!?! We adore it and hope so:
Like this pillow? Lindsay found them here.
Question. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Response. Being with my Family. I have a fabulous relationship with my parents, brother and sister, and happiness to me is being in a room with all of them.
Question. What is your greatest home extravagance?
Response. Our Colette Bed from Crate and Barrel. (My 30th birthday gift from my husband).
*We are snoopy so we checked out the bed…and it is so elegant!

Question. What would you consider your greatest achievement?
Response. What a great question. I’ve never been asked that before. For sure, my greatest achievement is being able to fulfill my lifelong dream of being a stay at home Mom, like my Mom was. I’ve always wanted to be able to stay home with my kids, and so my greatest achievement is succeeding at running my own business that allows me that simple pleasure.
The natural talent I’d like to be gifted with.
Oh my I wish for so many talents. I wish I could be gifted with public speaking – My Father can capture a rooms attention with the way he puts words together, it’s amazing. That is a talent I wish I had.
Thank you so much to Lindsay for being a trooper and doing The Row House Nest interview! We are positive you will love her work as much as we do.
