Celtic Home Crushes

Recently I stumbled upon an awesome feature that Remodelista was doing called the Celtic Angle, a series which focused some design love on all things Celtic across Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I absolutely loved it and came back to spy on more images today and just decided that I should share some of the beautiful homes, home furnishings and images with you. Really, to be honest – Remodelista is helping to introduce the world to some of the amazing projects going on behind the green hills, down the long dirt roads and hidden among the handmade stone farmers walls. Today let’s look at some of my Celtic home crushes.

Scotland truly is stunning. I loved it when I lived there. On my to-do list? Visit this home.

And check out this bedroom.

Originally spotted on Remodelista, this Galway home by Mark Guard of Guard Tillman Pollock integrates old and new. I love that they haven’t done away with all of the old but have modernized and given the Irish home a new look.

This Scottish cottage looks like it was snapped right out of the Muskokas in Ontario – but in actual fact located on the west coast of Scotland. This breathtaking cottage was designed by Helen Lucas Architects

This traditional home is likely listed as one of Ireland’s Big House, Ballyvolane Country House

The exterior is quintessential.

It was totally one of those occasions where once I started looking I found quite a few great Celtic spaces. Here is a cool extension by Ashley Hicks

There is also the famous book, Romantic Irish Homes – I wish I owned it. Think I know what I am asking for next Christmas…
