DIY Lavender & Coconut Bath Drops

This is one of those homemade gifts that you make and think "Mmm how many of these can I keep for myself?". Seriously. They are so luxurious. And easy. So easy. Perfect for someone who wants to make homemade gifts but doesn't have 3+ hours to dedicate towards making something. The lavender scent is a natural relaxant that soothes and calms... And coconut and cocoa are so incredibly luxurious on the skin, it's silly. You get out of the tub feeling completely chilled and super soft. Lately I have been defaulting to taking a lot of baths - for so many different reasons. It makes me slow down. I love soaking. To warm up. To relax before bed. With all my baths, I quickly ran out of my store bought bubble bath, bath salts etc. So I have been turning to quick 'throw-ins' that I already have in my bathroom cabinets. Lately ...

DIY Honeycomb Storage Bins

When we moved into our new apartment, I knew I wanted to turn the mudroom into an all-purpose dressing and pet zone. A mudroom and so much more. Staring at the space as it originally was, it just seemed empty and a poor use of the space. It was this sort of odd, little addition that was stuck onto the house. Being a dog momma, I instantly saw it's potential for being a dog friendly area (dog bed, dog supply storage and puppy wipe down zone)... But I also wanted it to serve as an area to slip off our muddy shoes, keep our outdoor things (think mittens, hats, scarves, sunglasses etc.) but also welcome guests into our house. My #1 priority was to install some sort of storage under the existing shelving to maximize the space on the west facing wall. I looked at traditional shelves and bucket style storage ...

The Living Room Rebirth

It has been exactly 2 months to the day since we moved into our new apartment. That is 60 days of living within the walls of an altogether not offensively painted apartment but a 'not me' apartment. I had been patiently planning and working behind the scenes with the wonderful people over at Benjamin Moore * to determine how to best breathe my personality and some new life into the walls of our home. As I have mentioned several times previously, I am just dying with happiness that I finally have an apartment that is a blank slate for decorating and one that is big enough to decorate (this is big news for me after living in under 400 sq. ft. for a year and a half folks). I went from a wee wee little single old me apartment to a spacious living room with 12 ft ceilings! The before (LOOK BEYOND ...

Tis That Season – Minted Holiday Cards

Listen, I am as shocked as the next person - it's almost Christmas. How the hell did it come up so quickly? I have no idea. Life has this magical mysterious way to sneaking up on us. It felt like just yesterday that Nan and I were splashing around the East Coast and now I am already thinking about my Christmas shopping and cards.... I always struggle each holiday season to buy cards that are "me". The ones I seem to gravitate towards are always way way way too expensive for me to rationalize buying (everyone just recycles non-personalized cards right?). I love getting cards that involve personalized pictures because than at least it feels like you are getting a little something special. So what awesome timing when Minted contacted me about their holiday photo cards and the desire to collaborate. Minted has kindly offered to allow me a ...
