It’s almost March. I am absolutely GAGGING for Spring to get it’s ass here already – the snow never really came to Toronto which I am happy/sad about. I have all these romantic memories of snow but well at this point, the good kind of snow isn’t going to happen so let’s just get on with the next season please… Mother Nature likely won’t totally let go until May so I figure filling the interior of your home with lots of stunning self made houseplant arrangements is the way to go. There are lots of elegant and easy ideas out there, you just have to pick the right one for you (green thumb versus brownish thumb versus black thumb!).
Don’t want to cram your house full of lots of different needy little plants?
Buy a really unusual or unique looking plant like this one featured on photographer frl.klein’s blog. Plant it in a vintage tin or unique container. Wham bam, thank you mam.
Not totally sure about houseplants? Do something easy like a terrarium.

Don’t want to invest a lot of money or time? Spring bulbs are the perfect solution…In el cheapo Ikea mugs of course!

Bring outdoor terracotta in. Simple. Walk into local garden shop. Buy terracotta pot. Slap it on a plate… Go to local plant/florist, buy a plant you like.

Some plants are a lot hardier (ie can withstand more than others can) but some are just damn pretty. Like this one (it’s called a fiddle leaf fig tree – fancy dancy!)

More advice. Start small, don’t invest too much money until you feel more committed (ie you stop killing plants and check out places like Ikea, plant sales and grannies for plants. Grannies are an excellent source of getting off shoots etc.
Don’t have much space? Go up – use the airspace
