My original ‘vision’ for Thursday’s Tutorials involved me gathering a big whack of information on a pretty specific topic and sharing it here with you so that you lovely readers would have the benefit of my research skills but alas today I am going off another tangent (life would be very boring without them) and going to share a gaggle of videos I stumbled upon. The Goddess of Gardening, Alys Fowler is at it again. The Guardian has a fantastic collection of videos about different gardening related things. They are so great and informative that I decided to use Thursday’s Tutorial’s as my platform to share them.

Unfortunately I cannot embed the actual videos and can only provide links but you won’t be disappointed I promise.

She also has some articles about growing tomatoes here, frugal fruit and veg grower here, and growing strong little seedlings on your own here.
So just to show you that I not only read this stuff but also follow up with it, I forced B to come out with me last night and collect some willow or willow like branches so I could make supports for my plants! Which I did today!
Ivy with bucket of water (to keep the ivy supple overnight!)
Stripped willow like branches (they definitely were not pussywillows but they were from that family of tree so I ran with it)
Rose bush getting some TLC – the wind was really knocking her about – so some handy dandy willow branches came to save the day (don’t worry I wrapped more ivy around as a support!)
Twisty ivy bit at the top to hold it all together
Sugar peas needing a little restraint. Man they grow like mad! The poor twigs I put in a few weeks ago couldn’t keep up!
I didn’t make this one but thought it was a pretty smart idea too:
It offers extra support… Spotted here.
