Wondrous Wednesday’s! DIY roundup

A fan favourite the Wondrous Wednesday is becoming so full steam ahead into another post where we will highlight our favourite DIY projects we have come across this week! There are just so many out there and depending on my mood and motivation, I gravitate towards certain types of projects. Some days I see great projects that when they look like they take a long time or cost a lot of moolah – I move on immediately. Other days, I don’t mind so much. Maybe it’s a hormonal female ‘thing’?!?

Anyways, ON WITH THE SHOW!

Desktop Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup Mod Vintage Life had this nice, quick and clean DIY project. She got the ‘before’ frame at Michael’s for $10 and with a little chalkboard paint made it into a fun hallway noticeboard. Definitely an ugly duckling transformation here. Spotted here.

livecreatingyourself1 Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup A nice project highlighted by Live Creating Yourself but originally from the Ikea Blog. Another lovely Ikea hack, gotta love those! Fact of the day: they do not have Ikea in South Africa! Can you believe it? Poor Idonette over at D’vine Living is dying to go to Ikea!

dipped vase 1024x679 Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup This is a pretty awesome and simple project spotted over at the Old Brand New blog Love the yellow contrasting on the dark brown pot. Dabito (or Dab) at OldBrandNew also did up this larger pot:

Love how the pot ties in with the retro inspired chair. Charming!

marthastewart Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup This next piece is obviously from Martha Stewart (think you picture) but I spotted it here. Great idea for providing mobile surfaces in your sitting room as well as storage.

blog pictures Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup Me, You and a Wiener gal Bri is the bomb. Unlike most design/homey bloggers, she is a real life sailor online. She swears, doodles pictures of dog poop and refers to drug use constantly. I laugh EVERY time I read her blog. It is actually pretty refreshing. I think most of ‘us’ keep our language filtered for fear of offending someone. Not Bri. She actually says she doesn’t want people to make ‘nice’ comments her posts. HA! Anyways, another stellar DIY job on this dresser! For full details head here.

realsimple Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup Always love the easy peasy look of stretched fabric on a canvas! This one is no exception! Spotted here.  Looks tre bien amongst all that white.

diymyhome Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup Hanging tissue paper orbs! A punch of colour in any room! Would look especially cute in a child’s bedroom or playroom! Spotted here.

smallplacestyle Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup An old dresser with some wheels (casters), a lick of paint and some knobs on the side? VIOLA! Kitchen Island! Spotted here.

marthastewart2 Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup Martha Stewart’s people can work some fine magic. Would you believe me if I told you that the above serving tray was a baking sheet? Yup. Tis. For details on how to DIY, head here.

littlenanygoat Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup I love this. “Stenciled” wallpaper. But honestly, I don’t know if my hands are steady enough or if I am detailed oriented enough. I would LOVE to try this…. Could it really be this easy?!? Spotted here.

thebooandtheboy Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup Kids shelving! Cute DIY idea over at the boo and the boy.

hanging plants Wondrous Wednesdays! DIY roundup DIY hanging plants! A nice alternative to all the cookie cutter ones we see in the Big Box shops! Spotted here.
